The
SAFE eKey Machine Software
addresses the HIPAA
Password Management compliance challenge.
The
weakest link in your HIPAA network security
compliance program is going to be the personal
password. Securing the confidentiality of Protected
Health Information (PHI) will require passwords, but
how those passwords are used, updated and stored by
the password user will be critical to the
effectiveness of your PHI security.
The
Problem
HIPAAAdvisory.com
lists "Easy-To-Guess" passwords as
one of the top ten threats to network
security.
Using
difficult-to-remember random passwords (know
as "Strong Passwords") is the best
way to improve network security, but because
of their characteristics, they usually force
password users to write their passwords down,
increasing the risk of a security breach.
Changing
passwords often is another way to help
improve network security, but like the
"Strong Password", this practice
also forces the average password user to
write down their passwords.
The
Solution
With
a SAFE eKey Machine software, password users
can quickly access and store their passwords
and login names in a Super-Secure encrypted
DAT file called a SAFE eKey.
Only
the user with the master password can access
this Super-Secure encrypted SAFE eKey DAT
file!
With
the SAFE eKey Machine, users can store
multiple passwords that can be accessed by
one master password. And, can easily change
their master password at anytime.
Users
can make as many unique SAFE eKeys as they
want. Each SAFE eKey can have its own unique
master password, too.
SAFE
eKeys are portable, so users can carry their
SAFE eKeys with them to provide access to
their passwords on virtually any computer,
anywhere. Or, they can be stored on the
network for universal network access.
Password
data can be easily "cut" &
"pasted" into the application's
password window from the SAFE eKey window to
eliminate typing errors or password theft by key stroke recording
"Trojan" viruses.
SAFE
eKeys are extremely safe. Every time an eKey
is made, it is encrypted differently.
Therefore, if the encryption is ever cracked,
the crack will not work on any other SAFE
eKey. Encryption Explained
Don't
worry if the SAFE eKey is ever lost or
stolen, because the SAFE eKey is completely
useless to anyone but the person with the
master password!
Protect
yourself and your patients by using a
different random password and login name at
every login site. That way, if your password
or login name is ever compromised or stolen,
your exposure is limited.
Easy,
convenient, and simple-to-use. The SAFE eKey Machine
software is an inexpensive way to secure passwords
with professional strength encryption.
